Qualifications/Experience

ā€¢         A PhD in engineering and related disciplines.

ā€¢         A research focus in Defense Technologies and their applications.

ā€¢         A record of scholarly research, applied/ experimental investigations, and research and development projects; patents and journal publications commensurate with an academic appointment at Full Professor rank.

ā€¢         Experience in leadership and management of a technical research center in an academic-industry partnership environment.

ā€¢         Experience in the management of IPR.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

ā€¢         Provide day-to-day management and technical leadership of the Center and its Program

ā€¢         Develop and present for the approval of the SMB the Center Strategy with Program objectives,

ā€¢         Implementation Plans, KPIs, Milestones, and Deliverables, and implement the approved Strategy.

ā€¢         Prepare and present for the approval of the SMB a detailed Program of research projects to be implemented by the Center.

ā€¢         Develop and present for the approval of the SMB the Operational Policies of the Center and the Authority Matrix; and implement the approved policies and matrix.

ā€¢         Develop and present for the approval of the SMB the pay scales and recommend annual increments and bonuses (if any).

ā€¢         Develop and present for the approval of the SMB the Security Protocol for the operation of the Center, and implement the approved protocols.

ā€¢         Prepare and present for the approval of the SMB a yearly Operational Plan and Budget, and implement the approved plans within the approved budget.

ā€¢         Report regularly to the SMB on the progress of implementation against approved Strategy, Program, Operations, etc.

ā€¢         Approve the appointment of Center staff as per approved Authority Matrix, and ensure annual performance review of staff.

ā€¢         Manage IPR and publications as per approved policies.
